Texas West Animal Health is a mixed animal practice serving the veterinary health care needs of the pets and livestock of Palo Pinto Counties and the surrounding communities. Our brand new, state of the art office and equipment allows us to focus on delivering exceptional care and outstanding service designed to improve and extend the life of every animal we treat.

Our clinic is outfitted with all of the equipment, technology and amenities necessary to provide your animal companion with a lifetime of quality care. For small animals, like dogs, cats, pocket pets and birds, we offer routine wellness care and vaccinations to help keep your pet happy and healthy, as well as sick calls and general diagnostics to monitor and manage their ongoing health. Occasionally, we also arrange to perform low cost spays and neuters with the local animal rescue programs.

We also maintain a mobile vet office (or “Vet Truck” as our clients like to call it!) to provide farm and ranch call services. Our livestock medicine provides a wide array of services to treat horses, cows and other farm animals, like sheep and goats, and the occasional pig or llama. Future plans include working livestock facilities and holding pens, but in the meantime we are able to utilize the local cattle companies working facilities.

The staff of Texas West Animal Health is quite small, comprised of just one doctor and a few highly qualified veterinary technicians, but we believe that this makes us special. With only a few members on our team, we are able to truly get to know each one of our clients and patients. Over the past 6 years, we’ve had the amazing opportunity to develop strong, lifelong relationships with our clients, and to establish bonds with the animals they love. This allows us to deliver the most customized, effective care available because we truly understand your goals for your pet, as well as their individual needs.

In addition to our passion for animal health care, we also feel strongly about giving back to the community as much as we can. We regularly get involved with the local 4H group. Our head veterinarian was a former 4Her herself, and she credits the program for her drive and success in the field of veterinary medicine. We are able to provide a mentorship and shadowing program for youth interested in a career in veterinary medicine, so please give us a call if you have a student wanting to participate!

Texas West Animal Health loves to welcome new clients and patients to become a part of our big, happy family and we’d love the opportunity to work with you and your animal friend. We invite you to give us a try and learn firsthand the convenience and other benefits of using a mobile veterinary service. We hope to see you very soon!

What To Expect

Coming to a new veterinary clinic can be daunting for both yourself and your furry family member. Often, knowing what to expect ahead of time can make things run much more smoothly and set your mind at ease.

Once you’ve scheduled your appointment with us, we’ll do our best to get you into and exam room with a veterinary care technician. They will begin by greeting you and the animal we’ll be treating. This is important, because developing relationships with our clients and patients is the foundation of our practice. We’ll spend some time discussing your animal friend, learning about their lifestyle and gathering a health history. If you have any documentation of previous medical care, including vaccinations and prior treatments, please have them handy for us so we may review and discuss them with you.

Next, we’ll move on to the physical exam. We’ll take our time and be as thorough as possible, because we want to gather as much information as we can. This will help us to develop a customized health care plan for your animal companion. Along with the exam, we’ll administer any necessary vaccinations, and discuss with you a number of important topics such as parasite control, nutrition and weight management, behavior and more. We’ll also gladly answer any questions you may have, or discuss any concerns about your pet.

After the visit, you can expect a follow up from the doctor or another member of our health care team. We’ll discuss the results from any diagnostic testing we performed, and determine the next step in your pet’s care, whether it’s a follow up visit or a treatment plan.

That’s it! It’s really just that simple. So what are you waiting for? Give us a call today and schedule your first veterinary house call visit. You won’t be sorry!
